Scott Eady’s 100 Bikes Project (where old bikes were rescued from the tip and souped up for kids to ride in the gallery) was a huge hit when it showed at The Dowse Art Museum in the summer of 2011/2012. The Dowse bought 8 of these wheeled wonders for the collection. “I just love these bikes! What really made them special for me was seeing all the kids ride them around the museum….wow…not many museums in the world where you can do that huh. When I worked at Te Papa I dreamt of riding the Britten motorcycle around the galleries. Next time Scott Eady needs a few larger bikes included for the big kids like me.”
