Floral Headwear: Tuvalu Fou Making Workshop

This event has already taken place

Celebrating the traditional arts and crafts of Tuvalu, our local Tuvaluan mamas will be hosting a fou making workshop!

Fou is a traditional floral garland or a headdress for a woman that would typically follow a specific design using tiale (gardenia), pua (guettarda speciosa) and melia (frangipani).

All are welcome for this drop-in style workshop. Pick and choose from a selection of colourful materials to weave and create your own unique combinations and designs. No bookings required, just drop by and give it a go!

This workshop is part of the Hutt Winter Festival and public programme for the exhibition 'Fafetu: Lakiloko Keakea'.
