Come join our team - curatorial internship open now
Applications for the 2013 Blumhardt Foundation / Creative New Zealand curatorial internship here at The Dowse close on 1 February. The start date for the position is flexible, but likely to be April.
The paid internship is an opportunity for you to work in our skilled, close-knit and happy team, being mentored by Emma Bugden, our Senior Curator, as you develop your own exhibition. Our current Blumhardt Curatorial intern is the lovely Ane Tonga, and her exhibition Everyone Talks To Everyone opens on 16 February.
All the details about the internship and how to apply are available online. One of the things we’ve asked you to supply as part of your application are samples of your writing. We’ve had a couple of questions about what kinds of writing will be ‘acceptable’; basically, we want to get a feel for how you express yourself, so put your best writing foot forward in whatever way works for you – an essay for a course, a review, a blog post, a diary entry …
This is also the closing week for applications to be an attendant at the New Zealand Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale. I am *this close* to applying myself. The position is unpaid, but (a) it’s amazing and (b) you do get airfares and accommodation. You need to have your CV in to CreativeNZ by midday this Friday (the 18th).
