Join us for special events throughout the year celebrating 50 years of uplifting ideas at The Dowse.
Sat 8 May, 1pm | Free
Join Ōtepoti Dunedin-based jeweller Jane Dodd in conversation with Dowse Director Karl Chitham, as they explore Wild Domain: The Natural History of Jane Dodd Jewellery; an exhibition which delves into her examination of humankind’s impact on the natural world. Representing the first major survey of Jane Dodd’s expanding family of works, Wild Domain, covers nearly 30 years of Dodd’s jewellery practice and includes pieces from many of her most well known and loved exhibitions and bodies of work.
Then join us to celebrate the launch of Wild Domain: The Natural History of Jane Dodd Jewellery, a brand new publication. Featuring beautifully articulated responses to Jane’s practice from contributors Dr. Chelsea Nichols, Bronwyn Lloyd and Justine Olsen, as well as images from Haru Sameshima, long-time photographer of Jane’s jewellery. This publication is made possible through the generous support of Creative New Zealand.
