Come along to The Dowse for a free day of art and play with activities for all ages – from toddlers to teens to grownups. Art Play Day takes over the museum, turning it into a creative playground of hands-on fun. Create your own colourful light collages in the gallery, build a stop motion landscape, design a high fashion gown and indulge in loads of messy play!

Bring the whole whānau and get your craft on at The Dowse from 12.30pm – 3.30pm, Saturday 29 January.

All Day Activities:

- Clay and kinetic sand play
- Weaving
- Bubble blowing and chalk art
- Finger puppet making
- Hut making and The Imagination Playground
- Draw patterns and create rubbings inspired by Nuku Tewhatewha

Artist Workshops:

- Create your own colourful light collages with artist Gabby O'Connor 
- Join artist Martin Awa Clarke Langdon to build a stop motion landscape
