All That Glitters - The Language of Things Open Day
In celebration of our first ever exhibition of international contemporary jewellery, The Language of Things: Meaning and Value in Contemporary Jewellery, The Dowse is hosting a special open day featuring three international makers in the show, Daniel Kruger (SA/GER), Su san Cohn (AUS) and Lauren Kalman (USA). Throughout the day there will also be interactive performances by Mia Straka (Auckland) and Occupation Artist (Wellington) as well as actors in the gallery as an extension of the work of Sharon Fitness, who will be encouraging us all to find our inner jewelleryness…
The Dowse is grateful to all the artists and supporters who have made The Language of Things: Meaning and Value in Contemporary Jewellery possible, especially The Rotasa Collection, USA; The Powerhouse Museum, Sydney; The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, USA and CODA, The Netherlands. Exhibition sponsors and partners include Creative New Zealand, Blumhardt Foundation, Massey University, Asia New Zealand Foundation, Goethe-Institut, Handshake, Fab Lab Wgtn, and Allied Pickfords.
