LEOTC for Schools

Make The Dowse your classroom. During one of our Learning Programmes, students will learn to look closely and think critically to develop a greater understanding of art, culture, history and humanity. Learning Programmes are FREE with optional workshops at a small charge. They can run from one hour to a full day.

Dowse Learning Programmes are planned and presented by experienced teachers. They involve viewing and discussion of original artworks in the gallery as well as additional options that include practical workshops, time with objects from the tactile collection, self guided activities and pre/post visit activities. The programmes are regularly updated in response to new exhibitions.

The Dowse Art Museum's exhibition programme of works by New Zealand and international artists, plus artworks in The Dowse collection, are a valuable learning resource for teachers and students of all levels and disciplines.
