2. A Word from the Director
Hello again from Cat and Sasha!
This week, the podcast is the first in a series we are calling “demystifying the public art museum”. This will be a series of interviews with Dowse staff members about their roles at The Dowse, and what it takes to make a public art museum tick.
This episode is an interview with Courtney Johnston, Director of The Dowse Art Museum. It is an interesting look at what being a director actually involves, and how it is different from the public image of a director. We chatted to Courtney about the importance of vision in running a public institution, the responsibility of directing that vision, and what it’s like being a part of a wider legacy.
To learn more about Courtney, you can find her (somewhat intermittent!) blog here http://best-of-3.blogspot.co.nz/ or check her out on Twitter www.twitter.com/auchmill
