Join curator Karl Chitham to explore the realm of Whetūrangitia/Made as Stars, The Dowse’s brand new exhibition. In this guided tour, Karl will be joined by several featured artists to discuss the ways in which these contemporary works reference an indigenous lineage with the Atua that extends far beyond Western concepts of ‘myth and legend’.

Join us afterward for celebratory drinks and nibbles to mark the opening of this exciting new exhibition.

Whetūrangitia/Made as Stars features work by artists from Aotearoa, Nepal, Canada, Hawai’i, Sāmoa, Tonga and Laos including Ashin Ashin, Hannah Claus, Solomon Enos, Glenn Gear, Robert Jahnke, Maioha Kara, Subash Thebe Limbu, Tcheu Siong, Kereama Taepa, Tyrone Te Waa, Jasmine Togo-Brisby, Telly Tuita and Pati Tyrell. Whetūrangitia/Made As Stars also has a unique visual identity as one of the works in the exhibition created by Extended Whānau.
